  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Whisk the Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures: Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients and fold in the finely chopped apples.
  5. Spoon the Batter: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about halfway.
  6. Bake the Donuts: Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the Donuts: Let the donuts cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  8. Whisk Together the Glaze: For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Drizzle and Serve: Drizzle the glaze over the cooled donuts and serve warm.
