A deliciously indulgent twist on the classic banana bread, these fudgy brownies are topped with a decadent brown butter frosting.

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth and creamy.
  3. Cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy and fully combined.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture, then mix in the mashed bananas.
  5. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the banana mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Prepare the frosting by melting butter until brown and fragrant.
  9. Combine brown butter with powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  10. Frost the cooled brownies with brown butter frosting and enjoy!
