Deliciously chewy lemon brownies that are the perfect blend of sweet and tangy.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan to create a lovely non-stick surface for your brownies.
  2. Mix the melted butter and sugar together until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract, lemon zest, and fresh lemon juice.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow your brownies to cool before dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

For a stronger lemon flavor, add more lemon zest or juice, adjusting sugar if necessary.
