  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown.
  3. Mix together the brown sugar and honey with the brown butter until combined.
  4. Add in the flour, salt, and vanilla extract; stir gently.
  5. Fold in the chopped pistachios and chocolate if using.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly into the greased baking pan.
  7. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until edges are golden.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

For added flavor, toast the pistachios before adding them. These bars store well at room temperature for up to a week.
