  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pistachios

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  3. Mix the brown butter with honey and brown sugar in a large bowl until well combined.
  4. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  5. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add this to the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the chopped pistachios until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for a few moments, then lift out to cut into squares and let cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. They can be frozen for up to three months.
