  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon coffee
  • 1 tablespoon brewed coffee (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Warm the Wet Ingredients: In a small saucepan, heat the milk, water, and butter until warm.
  3. Pour the warm mixture into the flour combination and add the egg. Stir until dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: On floured surface, knead dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour.
  6. Roll Out the Dough: Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle.
  7. Spread softened butter over the rolled-out dough and sprinkle with cinnamon and light brown sugar.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 1-inch pieces.
  9. Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes.
  11. Mix the frosting ingredients until smooth while the rolls bake.
  12. Drizzle the warm frosting over the rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with coffee or cold milk. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days.
