  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for caramelizing)
  • Butter (for greasing baking dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and well combined.
  3. Cut the loaf of thick bread into thick slices and carefully arrange them in the greased baking dish.

  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
  6. Remove the dish from the refrigerator and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the top.
