Delightfully crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, these air fryer churro bites are coated in a heavenly mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Boil the water and butter mixture: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt over medium heat until boiling.
  2. Mix in the flour: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until a dough forms.
  3. Cool and beat in the eggs: Allow the dough to cool slightly before beating in 3 large eggs, one at a time, followed by 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Pipe the dough: Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag and pipe small bite-sized shapes onto a sheet of parchment paper.
  6. Prepare for air frying: Spray the churro bites lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry the churro bites: Cook in batches for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Toss in cinnamon sugar: Mix together 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon and toss the hot churro bites in this mixture before serving.

Notes

Serve with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping. Leftover churro bites can be kept in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
