Soft, buttery biscuits filled with savory ham and gooey cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/4 cup additional melted butter (for swimming)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking dish with non-stick spray or a touch of butter.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Stir in the melted butter and buttermilk until just combined.
  4. Fold in the diced ham and shredded cheese.
  5. Pour the additional melted butter into the baking dish.
  6. Drop generous spoonfuls of the biscuit dough into the melted butter.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For even flakier biscuits, use cold butter and buttermilk. Can substitute buttermilk with milk and vinegar.
