Soft, pillowy donut bars with a sweet glaze and a hint of cinnamon, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cooked bars in the pan before glazing.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and let it set before slicing and serving.

Notes

These donut bars are great for sharing or enjoying with coffee. They can be frozen for up to a month.
