  • 6 slices of bread (challah, brioche, or your choice)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter for greasing
  • Maple syrup and powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare your baking dish by greasing it with butter.
  2. Arrange the bread slices neatly in the dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Soak the bread by pouring the egg mixture over it.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) the next morning.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and set.
