Delightful cinnamon rolls perfect for a cozy breakfast, made for two without any leftovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese (for frosting, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for frosting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a small baking dish.
  2. Combine 1 cup of flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a bowl.
  3. Stir in 1/2 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. Roll the dough out on a floured surface until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into equal pieces.
  7. Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish, allowing space between them.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Mix 1 tablespoon of cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar for frosting (optional) and drizzle it over the warm rolls.

Notes

These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
