A delightful twist on classic cookies, combining the tangy essence of sourdough with sweet chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the large egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  4. Stir in the sourdough starter until well combined.
  5. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  8. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  10. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For an extra flair, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before baking.
