  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup green sprinkles (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour and baking soda in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs, one at a time.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle the green sprinkles liberally on top of the batter, if using.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
