  • 1 loaf of bread (preferably challah or brioche)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Cube the loaf of bread and distribute the cubes evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down slightly to ensure absorption.
  5. Layer the sliced strawberries on top of the bread mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an even easier prep, assemble the casserole the night before and bake it the next day. Pair it with crispy bacon or sausage for a savory contrast.
