A delightful marriage of flavors and textures with savory corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, melty Swiss cheese, all nestled between warm, butter-toasted rye bread.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 8 ounces of corned beef
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Thousand Island dressing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Layer the corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on the unbuttered side of two slices.
  4. Add Thousand Island dressing on the unbuttered side of the remaining two bread slices.
  5. Grill the assembled sandwiches in the skillet for 4-5 minutes per side.
  6. Serve hot after slicing them in half.

Notes

Pairs well with sweet potato fries, a crisp green salad, or homemade soup. Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 2 days.
