Baked Rigatoni Stuffed with Beef Ragu and Mozzarella

A comforting dish featuring rigatoni pasta stuffed with beef ragu and topped with melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Tomato sauce
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until translucent.
  4. Brown the ground beef in the skillet until fully cooked.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Mix the cooked rigatoni with the beef ragu mixture.
  7. Layer half of the rigatoni mixture in a baking dish, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and then top with the remaining rigatoni.
  8. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with plant-based meat.
