  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the marinade: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Season the marinade with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Prepare the chicken by placing it in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  4. Coat the chicken with the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  5. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Bring the chicken to room temperature (10-15 minutes).
  8. Prepare the baking dish by lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper and greasing it with olive oil.
  9. Arrange the marinated chicken in the baking dish.
  10. Add any remaining marinade over the chicken.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  12. Rest the chicken for 5-10 minutes after baking.
  13. Slice the chicken into thick pieces for serving.
  14. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
