A delightful twist on the classic banana split, this cake layers fluffy vanilla cake with caramelized bananas, strawberries, pineapple, and whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup of strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 cup of whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate syrup
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Maraschino cherries for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the cake according to the package instructions.
  2. Bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
  3. Cool the cake completely on a wire rack.
  4. Place one layer of the cake on a serving platter.
  5. Layer with half of the whipped cream, then banana slices, strawberries, and pineapple chunks.
  6. Drizzle with half of the chocolate syrup and sprinkle with the nuts.
  7. Assemble the second layer on top and repeat with remaining ingredients.
  8. Top with whipped cream, fruit, and extra chocolate syrup and cherries.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For a richer dessert, use chocolate cake mix instead of vanilla.
