A classic deli sandwich featuring corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on buttery rye bread, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 4 oz corned beef
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup sauerkraut
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, on the skillet.
  4. Layer the corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on top.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  6. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip.
  7. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding Russian or Thousand Island dressing. Press down with a spatula for a crispier crust.
