A satisfying and healthy alternative to traditional burgers, these Black Bean Burgers are packed with flavor and perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup corn
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings of choice (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans in a bowl with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, onion, corn, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  6. Serve on burger buns with desired toppings.

Notes

For firmer patties, add more breadcrumbs if the mixture seems wet. You can customize flavors with different herbs or spices.
