  • 1 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the blackberries by combining them with 1/2 cup of sugar; set aside.
  3. Mix the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Melt the butter in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the prepared batter over the melted butter without stirring.
  7. Spoon the blackberry mixture over the batter, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve your cobbler warm, optionally with ice cream.
