  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, bourbon, brown sugar, apple juice, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Prep the Chicken: Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sauté the Chicken: Add chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides.
  5. Pour Over the Sauce: Once browned, pour the bourbon mixture over the chicken.
  6. Simmer to Perfection: Bring the mixture to a simmer, reduce heat, and cover for about 20 minutes.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with green onions before serving.
