A comforting and nostalgic bread pudding recipe that transforms stale bread into a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups stale bread, torn into pieces
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins or other dried fruit
  • 2 tablespoons butter, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the stale bread and place it into a greased baking dish.
  3. Whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the milk mixture over the torn bread; fold in the raisins or dried fruit.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes.
  6. Dot the top with butter and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with cream or vanilla ice cream, and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
