  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound sausage (Andouille or smoked sausage), sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or pasta for serving
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the sausage slices and cook until beautifully browned.
  3. Stir in the chopped bell pepper, onion, and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
  6. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Spoon the mixture over cooked rice or pasta and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding sliced okra or a splash of cream. Adjust the spice level to your preference.
