Crispy, golden egg rolls filled with a savory cheeseburger mixture for a comfort food favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 3 green onions, sliced for garnish
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef and Onions: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced white onion, cooking until fully browned, about 7–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Season the Mixture: Add minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. Incorporate Cheddar Cheese: Stir shredded cheddar cheese into the slightly cooled beef mixture until evenly combined and beginning to melt.
  4. Prepare the Egg Roll Wrappers: Place an egg roll wrapper in a diamond position on a clean surface. Add 2–3 tablespoons of the beef and cheese filling to the center, fold the bottom corner up, tuck in the sides, and roll up firmly. Seal the top corner with beaten egg.
  5. Heat the Oil: Pour 2 inches of oil into a deep skillet and heat to 350°F over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry the Egg Rolls: Fry the egg rolls in batches of 3–4 for about 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until deeply golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Arrange the crispy egg rolls on a platter, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Pair with dipping sauces like ketchup, ranch, or spicy sriracha mayo. Store cooked egg rolls in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
