- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 slices ham
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread the Dijon mustard evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the ham slices over the mustard evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese and black pepper on top.
- Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log and pinch the seam to seal.
- Cut the log into 12 slices about 1 cm (1/2 inch) thick and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg and milk together to create an egg wash and brush it over the tops of the swirls.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the pastry is golden and puffed.
- Allow the swirls to cool slightly before serving.
