  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup hot pepper jelly

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If you like, line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Cream the softened butter and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth.
  3. Add the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 teaspoon in size, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Press down in the center of each ball to create a small indentation.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool slightly and fill each thumbprint with hot pepper jelly.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
