A comforting blend of crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey melted cheese over penne pasta, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups penne pasta
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Sauté the chicken in olive oil over medium heat until cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
  4. Slice the chicken into strips after letting it rest.
  5. Simmer the marinara sauce in the same skillet to absorb flavors.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta and sliced chicken with the marinara sauce.
  7. Assemble the mixture in a greased baking dish and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a quicker version, use rotisserie chicken. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
