A flavorful Chicken Tikka Masala recipe featuring tender marinated chicken in a rich, creamy sauce, perfect for sharing with friends and family.

  • 500g chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces in yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and paprika for at least 60 minutes (or overnight for best results).
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for another minute.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken in the pan until browned on all sides.
  5. Stir in the canned diced tomatoes and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream; cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Season with salt to taste.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
  9. Serve with warm rice or naan to enjoy the sauce.

Notes

Marinating overnight yields the best flavor. Adjust spice levels to suit your taste.
