A Filipino-style garlic fried rice that transforms leftover rice into a flavorful dish with a hint of chili oil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup homemade chili oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped green onions (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant.
  3. Once the garlic is just right, add the 3 cups of cooked rice, breaking up any clumps.
  4. Pour in the 1/4 cup of homemade chili oil, mixing it well with the rice.
  5. Sprinkle salt over your mixture to taste.
  6. Continue to stir-fry until heated through and slightly crispy, about 5 minutes.
  7. Finally, garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve hot.

Notes

Use day-old rice for best results; store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
