Delightful cookies made with creamy butter, chocolate chips, and maraschino cherries for a sweet, chewy treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top before baking.
