Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the milk.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  6. Mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon, then stir in melted butter.
  7. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter, spoon in 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon mixture, and top with more batter.
  8. Create a marbled effect by swirling the cinnamon mixture into the batter with a toothpick.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Whip together cream cheese and unsalted butter, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  11. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously with cream cheese frosting.

Notes
