  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  5. Blend in the dry mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes if the cookies spread too much. Use room temperature butter for better texture.
