Crispy Chilli Chicken

A delicious blend of crispy chicken coated in a spicy chili sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 23 green chilies, chopped
  • 23 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Chopped spring onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper for 30 minutes.
  2. Dip the marinated chicken into the beaten egg, then coat with cornstarch.
  3. Fry the coated chicken pieces in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sauté chopped green chilies in a separate pan with a little oil.
  5. Add chili sauce and honey (or sugar) to the chilies, mixing well.
  6. Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped spring onions.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat your chicken by dunking it back in the egg and then in cornstarch again before frying.
