A vibrant and flavorful plant-based dish that captures the essence of Korean street food, featuring crispy tofu marinated with gochujang paste.

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • Large lettuce leaves (for wraps)
  • 1 cup steamed vegetables
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 scallions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) to get it ready for that perfect crunch!
  2. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut it into cubes.
  3. In a bowl, mix together gochujang, soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil.
  4. Marinate the tofu cubes in the mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Arrange the marinated tofu on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Serve the crispy tofu over fluffy rice, wrapped in lettuce, or alongside steamed veggies.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped scallions before serving.

Notes

For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can also fry the tofu for a crispier texture.
