Transform humble potatoes into a crispy, golden galette infused with fresh herbs and buttery richness.

Ingredients

  • 4 large Potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary), chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil (optional), for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the potatoes thinly using a mandoline or a sharp knife.
  3. Toss the potato slices with melted butter, salt, pepper, and chopped fresh herbs.
  4. Grease a baking dish or cast-iron skillet with butter or olive oil.
  5. Layer the potato slices in a circular pattern, overlapping them slightly.
  6. Drizzle any remaining butter over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, until crispy and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, soak the potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes before cooking. Feel free to add cheese or sautéed onions for flavor variations.
