Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1.5 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Pour in warm water and stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly and allow the dough to rise for 12-18 hours.
  4. Sprinkle flour onto a clean work surface.
  5. Carefully pour the dough onto the floured surface and shape it into a loose ball.
  6. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to preheat.
  8. Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Store your bread wrapped in a kitchen towel at room temperature for up to three days. Freeze sliced bread for up to three months.
