A warm and sweet custard pie topped with a luscious praline sauce and crunchy pecans, perfect for family gatherings.

  • 1 premade pie crust (9-inch)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the premade pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until well combined and light in color.
  4. Gradually add in the whole milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the egg mixture, whisking until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the filling is set and lightly golden.
  7. Prepare the praline sauce while the pie is baking.
  8. Stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream into melted butter, bringing to a gentle boil.
  9. Add the chopped pecans and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
  10. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes, then drizzle the warm praline sauce over the top.
  11. Serve slices of the custard pie warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven before serving.
