Deliciously fluffy garlic knots made with sourdough starter, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp yeast

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Divide the dough into small pieces and shape each into a knot.
  7. Blend the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley in a separate bowl.
  8. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each knot.
  9. Bake the knots for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm, drizzled with extra garlic butter.

Notes

Ensure your sourdough starter is active for best results. Add herbs or cheese for additional flavor.
