Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk (eggnog can be used as a substitute)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened for filling
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup eggnog
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  2. Mix together the milk (or eggnog), melted butter, and egg in another bowl.
  3. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick, and spread the softened butter on top.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  6. Starting from one end, roll up the dough into a log shape and slice into 12 pieces.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Combine the cream cheese, eggnog, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl while the rolls are baking.
  9. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls as soon as they come out of the oven.
