A decadent dessert featuring a velvety chocolate filling and a buttery pie crust that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (premade or homemade)
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • Chocolate shavings or whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and bake the pie crust according to package instructions or your favorite homemade recipe. Allow it to cool completely.
  2. Melt the chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Beat the softened butter with granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted chocolate and mix until combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour the filling into the cooled pie crust and smooth the top. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
  7. Serve chilled, topped with chocolate shavings or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Make sure to cool the chocolate slightly before adding to the mixture to prevent the eggs from cooking. Leftover pie can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
