A comforting and nostalgic dish featuring crispy corn chips, seasoned beef, and melted cheese, perfect for gatherings and family game nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups Fritos corn chips
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through and drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and diced tomatoes with green chilies; let cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Layer half of the Fritos in a baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve hot with sour cream, green onions, and jalapeños if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with quinoa or lentils. Feel free to mix in black beans or corn for added texture.
