Ingredients

Scale

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Toss chicken pieces in cornstarch until coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken to the skillet and cook until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove chicken and set aside.
  5. Add garlic and ginger in the same pan, cooking until fragrant.
  6. Stir in soy sauce, chicken broth, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  7. Bring to a simmer, allowing it to thicken.
  8. Add the chicken back into the skillet and coat each piece with the sauce.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For maximum crispiness, ensure the oil is hot before adding the chicken, and don’t overcrowd the pan.
