A light and refreshing cake layered with strawberries and whipped cream, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 angel food cake
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the angel food cake according to package instructions or your favorite recipe. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. Mix sliced strawberries with sugar and let them sit for about 15 minutes.
  3. Slice the cake in half horizontally.
  4. Spread a layer of the strawberries on the bottom half of the cake.
  5. Add a generous layer of whipped cream over the strawberries.
  6. Assemble the cake by placing the top half back on and spreading more whipped cream on top.
  7. Garnish with the remaining strawberries.
  8. Chill the assembled cake in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh strawberries and chill your whipped cream before whipping.
