Delightful, gooey cinnamon rolls infused with cinnamon and topped with a creamy frosting, perfect for any morning or afternoon gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and melted butter until warm. Carefully stir this mixture into the flour mixture. Add the egg and mix until combined. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough: Dust your countertop with flour and knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm area for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat the oven: While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Roll out the dough: After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  5. Add the goodness: Spread softened butter over the rolled dough. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon generously, then roll the dough up tightly.
  6. Slice and prepare for second rise: Cut into 12 equal rolls and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake to perfection: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
  8. Make the sweet frosting: Whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  9. Frost and serve: Drizzle the frosting over warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure the milk isn’t too hot to activate the yeast. Let the dough rise in a warm place for best results.
