A delightful bread infused with Italian herbs and cheese, perfect for sandwiches or as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian herbs (such as basil, oregano, and thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, Italian herbs, and cheeses together in a large bowl.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf, and transfer it to a greased bread pan for a second rise of 30 minutes.
  7. Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, use warm water, don’t rush the rising, and feel free to experiment with different herbs.
