A nostalgic kielbasa dish featuring caramelized onions and sweet bell peppers, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, allowing the oil to shimmer just before its first sizzle.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Cook until soft and lightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the kielbasa to the skillet, cooking until browned on the edges, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. If desired, stir in the mustard.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting according to preferences.
  6. Serve hot, straight from the skillet.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. This dish also makes a great filling for omelets or breakfast burritos.
