  • 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest, and fresh dill. Mix together until it’s well blended, adjusting the mayo to your preference.
  2. Toast the Bread: Heat your skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lay out the slices of white bread to golden brown and crispy.
  3. Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread the tuna mixture over three slices of the toasty bread, add sliced tomato and two slices of Swiss cheese per sandwich, then cover with the remaining slices of bread.
  4. Grill to Perfection: Place the sandwiches in your heated skillet; cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is toasted and the cheese melts.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from skillet, let them rest briefly, slice in half, and serve warm.
