  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 pita bread
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the chicken on a grill or pan until fully cooked, about 6-7 minutes per side. Let rest and slice into strips.
  3. Prepare the tzatziki by combining yogurt, feta, and dill in a bowl; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Warm each pita bread in a skillet or oven until soft.
  5. Assemble the gyros by layering sliced chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, and tzatziki in each pita.

Notes
